The Solar Ear

This is neat. Howard Weinstein created the Solar Ear to rely on two rechargeable AA batteries inside a palm-sized solar charger that after six-to-eight hours is fully powered. The batteries typically retain power for about a week before needing solar charge, have a two-to-three year lifespan and the devise is moderately priced at $100. This is great news for those who are uninsured or do not have access to electricity. Because the Solar Ear garners its power from a clean, renewable resource, it greatly decreases battery waste and the reliance on fossil fuel-based power; great news for our planet.
